Take Two Productions will perform in Lewistown on Sunday, September 12.

ANNOUCEMENT: A dance will kick-off Chokecherry Festival weekend the evening of Friday, September 10.  Better known as The Stomp, it is a benefit for the central Montana Education Center and MSU-Northern at Lewistown.

The Chokecherry Stomp will have a barn-dance theme and a casual atmosphere of blue jeans cowboy boots.  A finger-food buffet will be served along with beverages from Rattlesnake Jake’s Saloon and outdoor beer garden at the Yogo inn.  Those who attend must be at least 18 years old.

Bent Willow, a local group, will provide the music.  They're known for playing country western hits as well as classic and contemporary rock music.

A raffle is included with tickets available at Don's Store.  First prize is a 32-inch Samsung LCD HD-TV and a second prize of a half-of-beef donated by Pat and Melissa Descheemaeker.  Silent bids are also being accepted on a garden shed that was built by the construction academy students.  Bids must be written and signed and submitted to the education center before the event or at the stomp.  Minimum bid is $1500 dollars.  Other silent auction items include a one-day fishing trip with local award-winning fishermen, a gourmet dinner for six, artwork, custom designed jewelry, and more.

Funds raised at the Chokecherry Stomp will be used to purchase equipment and supplies for the facility and some student scholarships. During the 2009-2010 program year, the center served 2,750 enrollments with college coursework, training, seminars, adult education, driver education, GED program, and the construction academy.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Lewistown Municipal Airport and the City of Lewistown invite you to discover your piece of the Big Sky right in the heart to Montana. If you are an aviation buff, this airport is for you. Once a WWII B-17 Squadron Base, the Airport now awaits your arrival in your aircraft, although maybe not as majestic as the B-17!

The Airport has began development on an aviation expansion area for multiple aviation related endeavors, whether private or commercial. As you can see on the attached drawing (CLICK HERE), there are  multitude of aviation development opportunities, whether you own/operate a corporate jet or Piper Cub. Hangar/home sights are a very real possibility within this development, depending on how the FAA reacts to recent legislative proposals for such. If you are interested in our piece of heaven, want to be located on a GA friendly airport that is quiet yet offers all amenities a person needs, including commercial air service, the Lewistown Municipal Airport should be a top consideration. Most of all, we want your business and will work hard to keep it.

Technicalities: The new Lewistown Municipal Airport North-East Hangar Development Area is capable of easily accommodating both large and small aircraft. Taxiway “E” will accommodate most business aircraft with wingspans of up to 79’ supported on dual gears. Sites F1 through F5 are potential hangar/home sites depending on the FAA’s ruling of the use. A2, C1, C2 , have excellent business use potential as they front public ways with “outside the fence” access and parking.  D1 and D2 would make excellent corporate/business hangar sites, with employee parking available alongside the building when away on travel. E1 through E4 would make excellent private aircraft hangars for those wanting to protect their “bird” and have a place to just get away. All of these buildings are strategically sited to allow for south-east facing doors, which is very nice in Montana.  CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PROPOSED HANGAR LAYOUT
