LEWISTOWN AREA CONSTRUCTION PROJECT REPORT
From the Montana Department of Transportation this is the Lewistown area highway construction report from July 11 – July 17, 2018
Traffic fines double in highway work zones. The law also sets fines and jail sentences for reckless endangerment of highway workers. Minor delays can be expected through these projects with anything over fifteen minutes being noted in the description. Watch for equipment, flaggers, workers on the road, and reduced speed limits.

C-236 (Secondary 236-Winifred Highway) Hilger North (mile post 0 to 11.6) beginning approximately 15 miles north of Lewistown; from Hilger continuing 11.6 miles north construction activities will begin Monday July 16, 2018. Travelers should expect a width restriction of 12 feet, delays, reduced speeds, pilot cars, single lanes, and flaggers. Contractor will be crack sealing, chip sealing, and striping with guardrail and delineator work.
C-236 (Secondary 236-Winifred Highway) Winifred South (mile post 11.6 to 23.1) beginning approximately 11. miles north of Hilger and continuing north for 11.5 miles to Winifred construction activities will begin Monday July 16, 2018. Travelers should expect a width restriction of 12 feet, delays, reduced speeds, pilot cars, single lanes, and flaggers. Contractor will be crack sealing, chip sealing, and striping with guardrail and delineator work.
C-297 (Secondary 297) Careless Creek North (mile post 20.7 to 25.7) From 11 miles east of Judith Gap continuing for 5 miles, the seal and cover is complete. There will be no work on this project until mid to late August for final epoxy striping. *PM Shane Johnson 657-0241.
C-14 (US 12) West of Roundup (mile marker 159.8 to 165.9) beginning 4 miles west of the junction of US 87 & US 12 and continuing west 5 more miles paving is in progress. Travelers should expect a width restriction of 13 feet during working hours, delays, fresh oil, reduced speeds, pilot cars, single lanes, flaggers and traffic controlled by signal lights. C-61 (US 87 / MT 200) – Grass Range South (mile marker 33.8 to 44.0) from 11 miles south of Grass Range continuing north to the junction of US 87 and MT 19 near Grass Range a seal and cover is complete. There will be no more work on this project until the final Epoxy striping near the end of July or early August 2018. * PM Shane Johnson 657-0241
C-57 (US 87 / MT 200) - Hobson East (mile post 57.8 to 62.7) from one mile west of Hobson continuing for approximately 5 miles – contractor is clearing and grubbing, with culvert installation, pavement pulverization and dirt work. Travelers should expect a width restriction of 16 feet during daylight construction hours, delays, loose gravel, reduced speeds, gravel surface, rough roadway, and single lanes. Traffic is controlled by signal lights, pilot cars, and flaggers. Motorcycles should consider an alternate route. *PM Kyle Dubbs 538-1322

## City of Lewistown 1st - 7th Avenue - U-7105 A reconstruction project is in progress. 7th Avenue is no longer closed to traffic; travelers should expect a width restriction of 16 feet, delays, fresh oil, pilot cars, single lanes, and flaggers. ## Casino Creek Drive – U-7103 (mile marker 0.8 to 1.1) A reconstruction project begins at the junction with Carroll Trail continuing approximately 0.3 mile to Sharp-tail Ave-which becomes Golden Eagle Drive. Travelers should expect a width restriction of 16 feet, delays, pilot cars, single lanes and flaggers. Contractor will be performing chip sealing and striping. *PM Kyle Dubbs 538-1322
INACTIVE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS:
Queen’s Point Road – Local road SW of Melstone and US 12 Construction of new bridge and alignment is now INACTIVE over the Musselshell River beginning approximately 6 miles SW of Melstone. Traffic is allowed on the new bridge with no restrictions to travelers. (Reported only locally) *PM James Stevenson 657-0242
C- 238 (Secondary 238) Lewistown Southeast (mile post 0.4 to 7.2) On Upper Spring Creek Road southeast of Lewistown - this project is INACTIVE. *PM Kyle Dubbs 538-1322.
C-426 (Secondary 426) Moccasin Railroad Crossing (mile post 0.0 to 0.5) From the junction of S-426 and US 87, approximately 4.5 miles NE of Hobson, project is INACTIVE. *PM Kyle Dubbs 538-1322
C-14 (US 12) US 12 Bank Stabilization (mile post 121.7 to 184.0) Contract work is complete. Project is now INACTIVE. *PM Christopher Trautmann 670-3738

RECENTLY COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS:
P-61 (MT 19) Bohemian Corner South (mile marker 54.7 to 66.7) beginning 12 miles south of Bohemian Corner continuing north to Bohemian Corner (Jct of MT 19 and US 191 7 miles west of Roy) this chip seal is complete. All restrictions have been removed.
